We go here about once a month. My kids love it. Only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the closed sections exhibits. We usually go here as an alternative to going to our local park. We walk around the zoo once and spend the rest of our time at the playground.

Came by the Santa Ana zoo to see the butterfly enclosure was here a few weeks back and the line was hours long so left. Then was here today and they have a new check-in system for a waitlist, GREAT IDEA! I accidentally thought I was refreshing the waitlist and instead cancelled my request after waiting and the employee, Carmen was way too kind to search my name on the list and to help me out so I didn't have to wait all over again. She didn't have to do that and I really appreciated it. This is a local zoo in my neighborhood and everybody here is very kind and helpful. Cathy in the butterfly enclosure is very knowledgeable and I enjoy chatting with her as well. It is a beautiful enclosure. Make sure if you come by the Santa Ana zoo you take the time to see the butterflies.

Small little zoo in the center of town. It was a scorching day and miserable however the staff were real nice and informative. We couldn't find the petting zoo part the signage was not very clear. We didn't get to see some animals. On list because we couldn't find them due to the construction. Also the little rides ONLY run on the weekend so be mindful of that! Over all well kept animals and clean park!

We came here on a Saturday around noon. It wasn't too busy and there was plenty of parking. It was interesting to find because it's located in a residential area. There were a lot of houses around this zoo. It was about $13 per adult and $10 for kids. Kids under 3 are free. As soon as we walked in there was a playground on the left as well as a place to sit and eat. They had different items to eat like pizza and chicken tenders etc. We then walked into the park and there was a lot of different exhibits. They had a very cool amazon walk through, they had a camel, monkeys, ocelot and other animals. No big animals like Tigers, elephants, pandas etc. They also had an area to see farm animals and the kids can go on rides for an additional cost. Our favorite was the butterfly exhibit. They allow you inside an enclosed space where there are a ton of butterflies flying around you. My kids really enjoyed that. We finished the park in about 2 hours. It's open from 10-4. My kids then finished playing in a playground area in the front. Overall, it was pretty fun for our younger kids. I wouldn't come here with older kids.
